Austin Pets Alive! fills the gaps in the community by identifying the problems that leave dogs and cats euthanized at the shelter and creating innovative programs to overcome those specific problems.

Currently, we are focused on rescuing the pets who end up at the shelter and helping keep pets from being surrendered to the shelter.  While we believe strongly in spaying and neutering, Austin already has great programs for those services, so we are focused on helping the pets who have already been born get out or stay out of the kill shelters.

From seed to table, SFC creates opportunities for individuals to make healthy food choices and to participate in a vibrant local food system. We’re sure that you have been hearing through the grapevine and yes it’s true, King Florist is moving!  This July, we will be moving up the street on Koenig Lane. (1806 W Koenig Lane to be exact!) About The Breast Cancer Resource Center
Mission: to be a free, centralized source of information and support that empowers those affected by breast cancer to navigate through diagnosis, treatment, recovery and beyond as active, knowledgeable participants in their healthcare.

The BCRC started as a local, grassroots, non-profit founded in 1995 by seven women who met during chemotherapy and came together to create an organization offering women and families the support they themselves had needed. BCRC does this through Patient Navigation. Our Certified Patient Navigators provide a wide range of support from consultation with women in a profound state of shock immediately after diagnosis, to clarification of the doctor’s diagnosis, help understanding a pathology report, explanation of treatment and reconstruction options, counseling on insurance, preparation for surgery, addressing fertility issues and advocating for the underserved and uninsured patients who need the training and referral relationships of BCRC to attain basic access to care. These compassionate, knowledgeable Certified Patient Navigators approach each client empathetically, as they too are breast cancer survivors and have been where these women are.

No two breast cancer diagnoses are exactly alike. Patient Navigators are trained to determine the level of support needed and serve as liaisons from diagnosis through survivorship. BCRC assists 3,500 clients annually in a ten-county service area. With offices at six area hospitals, BCRC Patient Navigators are a valuable resource to physicians and oncologists, augmenting nurses and social workers care for patients.

The BCRC Vision is that no woman goes through breast cancer alone.

For February, we featured The Austin Humane Society. It was a great success and we had a great response with everyone ordering for Valentine’s Day!

We were able to meet Buster and Betty at the Humane Society when dropping of the check.  They are 11 year old brother and sister lab/retriever mix.  The have lived together their whole life, and need to be adopted together.  AHS has waived the adoption fee to help find a forever human for these two smiley pups!

Everyone deserves a little magic in their lives.  Sometimes it just takes a fairy godmother to make it happen.

The Fairy Godmother Foundation is a non-profit community service organization.  We help any young lady or woman attend their special evening in style, surround them with positive role models and encourage future success.  While the girls focus on the dress, we focus on building self-esteem.

The main purpose of our Foundation is to be sure any and all women or young ladies get the opportunity to attend any formal or semi-formal event without the burden of expense. For many women and young ladies, buying a dress for any formal event is so far out of reach, it would take the Fairy Godmother to make it happen.  That’s where we step in and make their dreams come true!

Keri’s Fairy Godmother Foundation is run solely on the generosity and support of the community and programs like the Bloom of Hope.

This design is full of texture and beauty!  It includes delicate Anemone’s, fragrant Hyacinth and  plush Hydrangea. The texture rich foliage of red calypso, long green fern, and mossy dianthus gives it so much dimension!  To finish it off, We some hand cut thick birch branches to give an extra touch of nature.  The flowers are designed in a one of a kind silver vase.  The inspiration for this arrangement was to create a design that felt natural and hand tied while giving an abundance of texture.

Valentine’s doesn’t have to be all about a dozen red roses.  Keep it interesting this year and send something unexpected!

1. Did you know that we do NOT raise our prices for Valentine’s Day?  The wholesale price of flowers goes up during Valentine’s Day so most florists raise their prices to get the full mark-up on their orders.   We “dislike”!  We would rather take a cut during Valentine’s Day to make sure that our clients know the prices are fair, all year round.  This, we Like Like Like.

2. Did you know that we hand wash every single vase and remove every single annoying sticker.  If you’ve ever received flowers in a dirty vase  with a sticker peering at you from underneath, you know…It makes such a difference! Attention to detail!

3. You may wonder why we create a “Valentine’s Collection” when we have such great options in our “Everyday Collection”.  Well, our flower buyer starts shopping for specific flower product months in advance to secure great quality flowers and really great prices.  So, we create a whole new collection to reflect the product that we will be offering along with the great pricing to go along with it.  A win win for you!
